Congratulations to all the new Worthing councillors elected last week and commiserations to those who were not re-elected on what was unsurprisingly not a very good night for my party locally and nationally.
What seemed like the whole of the Sussex farming community turned up on a lovely spring afternoon in a lovely part of the South Downs for the funeral of the doyen of the Coombes farming family Mary Passmore.
A weekly look ahead, with a slightly less busy Parliament predicted this week. I also talk about the social media companies that appeared in front of the Home Affairs Select Committee, an upcoming report by the Children's Society, the St. George's Day Parade and the local elections this Thursday.
"A secondary academy in my constituency has had to narrow the curriculum on offer to cut costs. The school is unable to meet the demand for counselling—there is currently a four-month waiting list. A small primary school is reducing swimming lessons and music lessons.
"Thanks to the UK cutting CO2 emmisions by 25% since 2010, our emissions are now at the level last measured in 1888 - and if we measure per capita, they're lower than they've been since 1858".
I hope everyone enjoyed the glorious weather over the Easter weekend but for many of us it will be remembered most for the appalling terrorist attacks on innocent people on the other side of the world in Sri Lanka.
