This morning I visited the Iranian Embassy, or rather the pavement in front of the Iranian Embassy, to show solidarity with Ricard Ratcliffe, the husband of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, held in detention in Iran since 2016.

The Time is Now

It was a great opportunity to talk with a large group of constituents this afternoon as part of the ‘Time is Now’ lobby, discussing climate change and what we can do to protect our environment. Thanks to all those who came along.

Another busy week in Parliament and the constituency, discussing Open Farm Sunday at Lychpole Farm, the Tibetan Sikyong, Armed Forces Weekend and my Eco tip for the week.

Plastics in Rivers

I was very pleased to attend the Greenpeace presentation in Parliament last week which focused on plastics in our rivers.

Guide Dog event in Parliament

Always a pleasure to meet with Guide Dogs in Parliament - too often guide dog owners are made to feel unwelcome and excluded from public places. This is against the law but more needs to be done.

Conservative Leadership

We have 2 exceptionally talented candidates in the final round and I look forward to listening over the coming weeks to a proper, full and frank debate. I am happy to reveal now that my preference is for Boris. These two candidates will now go through to a vote decided by Party members.

Herald Column: June 20

On Saturday it was that time of year again for one of my favourite events of the constituency calendar – the Worthing Children’s Parade. This was the 12th parade and 12th time I have had the privilege to act as compere welcoming the schools as they processed into Steyne Gardens.
