On Monday I was thrilled to speak on a panel with Tom Tugendhat MP, Kirsty Lang from the BBC and Director of the British Museum Dr Hartwig Fischer to discuss how the UK is protecting cultural heritage in fragile and conflict states.
The event, hosted by the British Museum, the British Council and the Coalition for Global Prosperity brought together politicians, NGOs and experts in the field to explore how the UK government’s Cultural Protection Fund is financing critical cultural preservation work across the globe.
British leadership in development is integral to Britain’s role on the global stage. I am proud that Britain rightly leverages its expertise in protecting cultural history and practices in fragile states.
