There will be some radio transmitter changes taking place around Worthing and Adur from January 2018 which will be announced shortly.
Changes to radio distribution are being made as the BBC invests in analogue and digital platforms in a way that reflects changing listener habits. This includes investment undertaken over the last few years to strengthen DAB coverage for local radio, to make each BBC local radio station available (within its coverage area) on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and to improve the quality of our online feeds. From January 2018, a number of medium wave transmitters for BBC local radio stations will be closing. As such, BBC Sussex will then no longer be accessible on medium wave. The service will, however, still be available on FM and on digital, including DAB, DTT and internet-based services such as BBC iPlayer Radio.
You will therefore still be able to find an alternative means of receiving the station. In the first instance, listeners can get help in finding their local radio station on these alternative platforms by going to the BBC Reception Advice website – www.bbc.co.uk/reception. The BBC's technical support team will also be on hand to offer help and advice should you have any more detailed questions.
