Dear Colleague,
Earlier this week I wrote to ASLEF, the train drivers’ union, inviting them to
meet to discuss ways of finding a solution to the ongoing disruption on
Southern, subject to their planned industrial action being suspended.
Today I have heard from ASLEF that they are willing to suspend all planned industrial action, including the overtime and rest day working ban currently in place. I am arranging to meet the union at the earliest convenience. A similar offer for a meeting has been made to the RMT, who were also planning strike action.
