The Post Office is holding a ‘drop in’ customer forum to provide local people with the opportunity to discuss its proposals to relocate and create a new branch for Shoreham.
The forum will be held on Friday 16 June 2017 at the Shoreham Centre, 2 Pond Road, Shoreham-by-Sea BN43 5WU from 15.30 until 19.30, with people welcome to attend when they wish between those times.
The intention is to help inform customers of the details of the changes proposed for Shoreham Post Office and enable them to discuss the plans and raise questions.
The Post Office is proposing to create a new branch for Shoreham, extending opening hours for customers and offering a range of Post Office services.
The plan is to move the Post Office a short distance from its current site at 15 Brunswick Road, BN43 5XN to 6, High Street where it will be run by Shoreham Stores Ltd.
The Post Office would operate from an open-plan area and opening hours would be extended to include Saturday afternoons. In addition there will be selected Post Office services available from a retail till, open from 07.00 until 23.30 Monday – Thursday, 07.00 – midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 07.00 – 23.00 on Sundays.
Working with Shoreham Stores Ltd, the Post Office says it will ensure accessibility for all its customers, including wheelchair users. There will be a new automatic entrance door and the layout will apparently provide sufficiently wide aisles and low-level counters.
Shoreham Stores Ltd is a family run business, operating Maxi’s convenience store since 2010. The new Post Office will be incorporated alongside their current business of convenience shopping.
