Jewson have devised a community initiative that will be giving away a total of £250,000 to local community projects across the UK. This funding could benefit residents in East Worthing and Shoreham and make a real difference.
To try and make the biggest impact possible across the UK, they have developed Building Better Communities – a competition which gives local causes the chance to win free building materials for building projects.
This year, applicants can choose to nominate a project for either the main prize of a £150,000 ‘My Comfort’ building transformation, or a share of a £100,000 regional prize fund, where they can ask for anything from £500 to £10,000 to spend on building materials.
Nominations can be made via buildingbettercommunities.co.uk or the Jewson Facebook page at facebook.com/jewsonuk. Nominations close on: 29th April 2016.
How the competition will work:
Nominating projects (29/03/2016 - 29/04/2016)
It may be a new roof for a village hall, a clubhouse extension for your sports club, or the renovation of a long-forgotten community building.
Voting (16/05/2016 - 19/06/2016)
Once the nominations are in, a shortlist will be announced. It a project is lucky enough to make the list, the community needs to get behind it and vote.
The Winners (04/07/2016)
When the voting is closed, Jewson's panel will judge each entry and select the winners. Winning projects will be contacted directly by a Jewson employee.
