Recently we marked Alzheimer's Awareness Week and I attended a number of events in Parliament to hear from people involved in the fight against dementia.
Locally I am a patron of Guild Care, a fantastic local charity in Worthing. They do great work with older people, including providing specialist care for people with dementia.
Worryingly the diagnosis rate for dementia is still low. We need to do more to ensure people are diagnosed and get the care they need. The Government is putting in an extra £160 million a year into research to try and find a cure to alleviate this terrible disease.
