Schools in West Sussex are facing some really difficult financial decisions, including cutting course, not replacing teachers and not purchasing pretty basic equipment.
West Sussex MPs recognise the pressures on our local schools and have been calling for fair funding for some time.
The Government has made a step in the right direction with its proposed new Funding Formula, which will mean extra resources for West Sussex, but it needs to go further. I have made to clear to ministers that the greatest priority must be to sort out the current urgent funding pressures affecting our schools before earmarking additional funds to new forms of schools.
