I recently attended the Canadian Memorial on Worthing seafront for a moving service to commemorate the 1000 Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in the Dieppe Raid in 1942, and to celebrate the strong Canadian connections we have in Worthing and Shoreham. Many Canadians were stationed here during the war - they even ran Shoreham Airport.
Thank you Chris and Pam Vowles who set up the charity Canadian Roots to bring together children of Canadian servicemen and who started up the yearly memorial service a few year ago.
