In April, NHS Helpforce approached British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) regulated UK acupuncturists about the possibility of treating NHS doctors, nurses, midwives and other NHS staff during the crisis.
In Brighton, a group of eight BAcC acupuncturists, got together and have worked extremely hard over the past six weeks, in particular learning about the new requirements for Safe Practice and working with PPE.
The team are very excited that now with BAcC approval and insurance in place, and (generously donated) clinic rooms to treat from, they are ready to start offering the service.
The sessions (located at The Float Spa, 3rd Ave, Hove) will begin on Tuesday 9th June and there will initially be up to 32 appointments available each week. The word has already spread and quite a few patients have booked in already and there has been immediate interest from the Trusts that have been approached.
There is no set charge for the treatments, instead NHS workers can choose to make a voluntary donation if they so wish when booking in for their appointments.
The service is open to all NHS workers an appointment can be booked online by clicking on “Book Now” on the FaceBook page fb.me/Acupuncture4NHSBH or by following direct link to the booking site https://acupuncture4nhsbrightonhove.as.me/
Anybody who wants to support the project and help fund NHS workers’ acupuncture treatments can make a donation on the booking site, again either through the Facebook page fb.me/Acupuncture4NHSBH or directly https://acupuncture4nhsbrightonhove.as.me/
